I had the honor of taking my little 6 year old to the annual Father Daughter Dance at our YMCA. We had a terrific time and I appreciate her and her wonderful personality. Saylea was so excited and we had fun dancing and eating nachos. She saw a dad with his two daughters and wanted to know if we would be able to go to this dance every year, and when Laney is old enough, if she can come too. Of course, I can hardly wait! They grow up so fast! I don't know if I will ever be able to let someone else take her to a dance :)

Our little girl is growing up so fast!

We think that we have a guardian angel that watches over our little Laney (maybe Dad??). A couple of days ago Bea took some painkillers because her incision from her C-section was bothering her. She got up a few times in the night with Laney and she was real tired after Saylea and I went off to school, so she fell asleep with Laney in bed with her. She knew the boys were still sleeping and would be for an hour or so. She was awoken be a small cry from Laney. She started to look around for her and realized that she was not in the room with her. She jumped to her feet and ran downstairs were the boys and Laney were watching cartoons. Laney was nicely tucked in her swing and started to fuss because she was hungry. Big brother Ivan thought he would let mom rest a little longer and take Laney downstairs and "baby sit". On the surface it is a little funny because Laney was not hurt, but thinking about how bad the situation could have been, we are extremely grateful that someone was watching out for her. We explained to big brother that he is NEVER to carry Laney unless mom and dad are there to supervise. Needless to say Bea will probably never be able to fall back asleep again in the mornings!
